Citaat:
Race Dates
All races will now be held the day before the Grand Prix. The Cup races will run on Saturdays with the exception of Assen where the Dutch TT is traditionally a Saturday race so the Rookies compete on Friday.

The race dates 2007 are:

2nd June, Mugello (ITA)
23rd June, Donington (GBR)
29th June, Assen (NED)
14th July, Sachsenring (GER)
18th August, Brno (CZE)
3rd November, Valencia (ESP)
Suspension
The WP suspension of the KTM bikes have been upgraded because the Rookies made such good use of the motorcycles in Jerez that the technical team felt that they would benefit from the improvement. The suspension has been upgraded to WP's 'GP Standard' specification and in Mugello the Rookies will use it for the first time.

One more Rookie
Hungarian Peter Sebestyen makes his Cup début at Mugello. He only turned 13 on 16th May, 2007. The age restriction prevented him from racing at the opening round in Jerez.

Two less Rookies
Kevin Sanchez will not be able to participate in Mugello due to the broken arm he sustained while testing a non Rookies bike in Tarragona on December 6th. The arm was plated and screwed and he is undergoing regular physiotherapy. In April the Spaniard had a check up at Red Bull’s Diagnostics and Training Center (DTC) in Thalgau, Austria. He hopes to be back in action at the Donington round on June 23rd.

Deane Brown is also out of action having sustained a badly broken femur, right thigh, when he crashed his UK1 Racing Honda at the Thruxton British 125cc Championship round on April 15th. He also injured his knee and right wrist. After operations on his leg and wrist he is undergoing physiotherapy and hopes to be back in action at Assen or Sachsenring.

One proud Rookie
There is a championship leader's helmet and shirt. Mugello being the second round the Leader Helmet and Leader Shirt get used for the first time and Italian Lorenzo Savadori has the honour.

There is great news this week as the next round of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup will be held at the Grand Prix of Portugal in Estoril on Saturday 15th September. That is followed by the final round at the Grand Prix of Valencia on Saturday 3rd November.

The venue switch for round seven from Hungary to Portugal aligns the whole series with the MotoGP World Championship as originally intended. There had been space difficulties in Portugal but thanks to exceptional efforts by Dorna, IRTA and the Portuguese organisers these have been overcome.

With two races to go Frenchman Johann Zarco heads the title race from Italian Lorenzo Savadori and Briton Matthew Hoyle. There are still 50 points to race for so a great deal could change in the next two events.

Every race and every track is a tremendous learning experience for the Red Bull Rookies. The Estoril circuit is famous for its winds that can really test rider skills adding yet another dimension to their education.
