Hot on the heels of Klaus Klaffenbock, another former World Champion is set to make his TT debut in the shape of French rider Laurent Brian, who is the latest top European rider signed up to make his debut at the Isle of Man TT Races. The twenty nine year old won the 2001 World Endurance crown when he rode for the official works Suzuki-SERT endurance team, alongside Scotsman Brian Morrison and fellow Frenchman Christian Lavielle and he can boast a very impressive CV.
Laurent has gained vast experience on the World stage riding for Suzuki in 2001 and 2002, taking victories in the Bol D’or 24 Hour, Spa 24 Hour, Assen 6 Hour and Brands Hatch 6 Hour World Endurance events. He also had wild card outings in the World Supersport Championship in 2002, scoring points, and the World Superbike Championship in 2004. Laurent became French PromoSport Champion in 2000 and, more recently, has been competing for the experienced Yamaha Endurance Moto 38 team and Team Bolliger in World Endurance, scoring numerous top 8 positions. Laurent has been wanting to compete at the TT for a few years now and finally gets to realise his ambition in less than six seeks time, an opportunity he is really looking forward to.

Dit jaar dus ook beelden van Man bij de BBC, en dat is in ieder geval voor de thuisblijvers goed nieuws. Zijn we in ieder geval niet alleen afhankelijk van Eurosport.
Dit jaar ga ik niet naar Man, ik wil de GP in Mugello bezoeken. (sTTevie, we komen elkaar dit jaar niet tegen op Man).
Ik moet wel zeggen dat het bij de gedachte aan de TT toch steeds meer begint te kriebelen..... Misschien dan toch maar in augustus naar de Manx TT of de Ulster GP toe, zo kan ik toch wat "Real Road Racing' meemaken.

As Greenlight Television reaches its tenth anniversary, the occasion becomes a double celebration with the news that the BBC has confirmed that highlights from this year's races will be given a one-hour slot in its flagship sports programme Grandstand on BBC1, Sunday June 12th with coverage provisionally scheduled to start at 11.30 am.
Over the past ten years the TT has receieved tremendous support from BBC Northern Ireland, and nightly programmes during race week have attracted enormous audiences. These programmes will once again be a central plank of this year's television coverage, and the addition of a national slot is a recognition of the TT's unique character.
Belinda Rogerson, BBC's Series Producer, Motorsport, said 'The BBC are delighted to have the Isle of Man TT back on Grandstand. It is a unique event with long and distinguished history, and it is a welcome addition to our motorsport portfolio, alongside our coverage of MotoGP.'
The news has also been welcomed by the Isle of Man Government. Tourism Minister David Cretney said he was "absolutely delighted that the greatest road races in the world will be shown on Grandstand".
In addition to the UK, TT television coverage this year will continue to reach global audiences in Asia, Africa, the USA, the Middle East and eastern Europe.

hey John,
da's spijtig, het was altijd gezellig babbelen met je op de camping of naast de baan, maar we zullen elkaar nog wel eens tegen 't lijf lopen naast een of ander Europees circuit
alvast veel plezier in Mugello, geef je ogen maar de kost, zowel op als naast de baan, de trackside ambience is één van de beste in Europa ( & de wereld )

Wat betreft de voorbeschouwing van het nieuwe roadraceseizoen vind ik het toch moeilijk om op de hoogte te blijven. De Ierse/Engelse roadrace scene is behoorlijk divers en er is telkens een behoorlijke aanwas van nieuwe talenten.
Jammer dat ook dit jaar de TT samenvalt met een race om het BSB, het zou mooi zijn om bijvoorbeeld Rutter weer een keer terug te zien.
Ik ben erg benieuwd of dit jaar talenten als Martin Finnegan, Ryan Farquhar en Guy Martin echt potten kunnen gaan breken tegen de gevestigde orde als Archibalt, McGuinness en de Nieuw Zeelanders Anstey en Harris. Daarnaast moet Britton en Lougher het toch goed kunnen doen op een Honda. Voor Honda is het best lang geleden dat ze een belangrijke overwinning behaalde op Man (Moody of Dunlop in de Senior-race).
Wat betreft Guy Martin, daar ben ik echt benieuwd naar. Die heeft afgelopen seizoen echt indruk gemaakt. Van de 9 races waaraan hij heeft meegedaan heeft hij er 8 gewonnen. Nog niet op Man, maar dat kan niet lang meer duren. Als 'newcomer' is hij afgelopen jaar op de 7e plek geeindigd in de Senior TT met een snelste ronde van 122mph. Vorig jaar stond op de camping een sponsor van Guy Martin. Hij vertelde dat Martin bijna alles zelf doet, het tunen, het opbouwen en het racen. Wat dat betreft past die goed thuis in de traditie van self-supporting racers zoals Dunlop en Farquhar. Misschien dat het dit jaar nog te vroeg is, maar een grote prijs pakken acht ik hem toe in staat.
