300 Zatacek Gustava Havla Horice Czech republic

Hi guys,
I want to introduce You the best road race in Continent - 300 Zatacek Gustava Havla Horice. It is only one real road race in Czech republic and one of the oldiest in whole Europe. This year we started our 46th year. The race started in our circuit in 1961. The circuit - we say little TT - is very difficult. Lenght 5150 m, 15 curves on right, 11 curves on left, vertical distance 90 m.
The name means "300 curves of Gustav Havel" and the race got in past because riders rode over 300 corners in one race.
There started more than 1000 riders from Czech, Slovakia, Slovenia, Germany, Austria, Finnland, Sweden, Danemark, Norge, Italy, Belgium,Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Svitzerland etc. From Holland there started over twenty riders (Johannes and Marcel Ebeling´s, Harry Heutmekers, Henri VanHeist, Rico Mertens and anothers).

Besides "fast" race we have race for classics. This race belong to Europian classic cup and start three weeks after.

The date for 2009 is provisional but it will be 16 and 17 May (99%). I´m in contact with many irish riders who are planning to race at Horice (about 15 riders).

- 1961 06.25. started new age of race in Horice
- 1962 - 1967 were race filed in Czechoslovak championship

- 1968 05.11. first international open races in 125cc and 250cc classes, from this year race calls 300 Zatacek Gustava Havla (Gustav Havel died

During 46 great years we could see great and famous riders from all Europe. In datbase is 969 riders from 19 countries.

From Holland it isn´t so far to Horice. I think for many of you it would be great trip. Weather in May is great czech beer is the best in the world and czech girls are nicest in whole the Universe

Nice pictures and movie's from Horice.

To be honest....for me it looks like a very dangerous track. Racing through the forrest, city....I prefer racing on a real circuit.

Yes. That bike produced Mr. Kamenický and his two sons. Both are racers and one of them uses #18.

The bike was very successful in UEM SUPERMONO CUP 2008
Libor Kamenický finished 5th, Mike Edwards (GBR) 6th and Martin Kamenický 9th

The bike calls JAWA MALI (MALI means first two letters from names of both brothers)

I know them! my uncle had a bit of contact with them because he ownes some old jawa's and my uncle had some contact with the factory about the old 4 stroke racingbike. He wanted to get it on to the centennial TT a couple of years ago.

i am not sure but i think he also arranged that they could drive at the ducati club races in Holland for a couple of times
