Citaat:
“This is an unbelievable feeling,” said Brookes. “I didn’t know until I got back into the pits that I had won the championship, so I’m stoked. The guys who race in Australia are world-class, and today was much harder work than when I won the world Supersport race here in 2004. I’d especially like to thank my mechanic, who hasn’t put a foot wrong all year – the only mistakes made have been by me.”

Brookes will now head overseas in 2006, and is expected to make an announcement on his plans very soon.

Citaat:
Said Giles: "Firstly, congratulations to the Joe Rocket Honda Team and Josh for taking his first championship."I have to thank everyone at Team Suzuki: 2005 has been the closest, toughest championship I've raced and everyone has worked so hard together to achieve a top result.
"Even though we didn't take the title, we finished on equal points so obviously the Suzuki GSX-R1000 has the horsepower and pace to win the Australian Championship. This was a brand new bike for 2005 and now with a year of development under our belts, I'm looking forward to making a strong challenge for next season. Coming this close to the title, Suzuki is going to be even hungrier than ever for the championship crown."

Citaat:
They are not just importers here, they are local operations but they are Japanese owned and run. Wasn't always the case but it is these days. But they are not factory bikes, all the bikes raced here are put together here and a lot of the 'kit' and 'factory' stuff can't be used as we run 'Production' Superbikes with limited modifcations. Certainly not Superstock but also certainly not full blown full monty Superbikes

Citaat:

Suzuki - Giles and Bugden
Yamaha - Jamie and Dan Stauffer
Honda - Fergusson and probably Allerton
Satellite Honda 600 - Bryan Staring
Kawasaki - Probably Shannon Johnson

Enne Josh Brookes? Hij gaat naar Europa?
Wat gaat het worden? Ben benieuwd

newly crowned Dual Champion Josh Brookes will move on to an international outfit, news of which is yet to be confirmed.

Citaat:
Fresh on the heels of Honda Australia’s two most successful road racing years ever, Glenn Allerton has officially been signed to ride in the Superbike and Supersport class for Joe Rocket Honda in 2006.

The 24 year old, Camden, NSW based rider spent the next seven years roosting national championship motocross tracks, but after a badly broken leg in 2001 forced him to sit back and think about his future, Glenn decided a road racing career was the next logical step.

“This past year has been okay for me, but I suppose it could have been better too,” he said. “I had a win at Queensland raceway and a few other good races and finished sixth overall which I think is pretty good for my first year in the big class.”

“What I’m really looking forward to now though is getting started with Honda. I haven’t had the chance to ride the race bike yet, but I did take a new CBR1000RR out for a ride on the street and it felt like an awesome machine. I know the new model is going to be even more incredible.”
